Some
of the benefits of a Stacked Charge Air Cooler-radiator Units as
opposed to traditional cooling are:
-
No need for an
external surge tank, in most applications
-
Because they are
stacked, the radiator and charge air cooler are both on the
leading side of the airflow, allowing for blow or suck fans.
-
The radiator , also
being on the leading side, allows he radiator to be cooled more
efficiently, by minimizing static pressure, and receiving air
directly rather than preheated air which comes through the charge
air cooler. Therefore allowing the use of a smaller radiator core
while maintaining the same operating temperature, as it's larger
counterpart.
